One of the most common questions I am asked is about warranties. With that being said all new Subaru vehicles come with one of the best factory warranties on the market. However, lets take a look into these warranties.

The first warranty I want to talk about, is the Subaru Basic New Car Warranty. This warranty covers every component on the vehicle to correct defects in material and workmanship. The duration of this warranty is 3 years, or 36,000 miles from the time the vehicle is purchased new. Along with this comes a wear item limited warranty. This warranty covers items that can tend to wear out over time such as brake pads, wiper blades, and batteries. While most manufacturers only cover these items for the first 12 months of use, Subaru  covers these items for the entire 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty time frame.

All Subaru models also come with a 5 year, 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. This is a coverage of most internal transmission, internal engine, and also most of the internal all wheel drive components. Another unique warranty coverage that all Subaru vehicles come with is a lifetime seatbelt warranty. The seat belt lifetime limited warranty coverage last for the useful life of the vehicle. Coverage includes seat belts and related components which fail to function properly during normal use. This warranty does not however cover cosmetic appearance.

With these warranties do come responsibilities such as maintenance. It is the owners responsibility to have  all scheduled inspection and maintenance  service performed at the time and mileages recommended in the Warranty and Maintenance Booklet for the respective model. You must also retain proof that inspection and maintenance services are performed when recommended.
